I have marked the Grime music genre with a blue star. This is the top R&B 40 because in my opinion it is not a popular genre overall since pop and R&B are the most popular types of genre to get on the top 40 in the UK and Grime is like British Hip Hop. Recently Grime has become more popular lately over the pass two years; such as Tinie Tempah brought out his single Pass Out in Febuary 2010 and then in 2011 at the Brit Awards, he won best single 'Pass Out', Best British Male, Best Breakthrough Act, and Album of the Year. This shows that Grime is new upcoming music and still taking an impact on Britain. In my opinion I find this sort of music for young people because it's still fresh and it sounds different from R&B. I am going to class this as mainstream because when these Grime artists bring out a new single; the majority of the time that single will go to top 10 or even number 1.
